In 1949, a group of prominent American Citizens recognized the need for a higher level of economic understanding and founded the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE).  This independent, non-partisan, national organization is guided by a single principle:  “Each citizen’s ability to recognize and objectively analyze economic issues is essential to his own welfare and the national progress.”
