County Ambassadors
Becoming a County Ambassador for FCEE
The Florida Council on Economic education is dedicated to reaching every school
district like never before. And we need your help! County ambassadors help us distribute valuable programs, resources and professional development opportunities to teachers in their respective school districts. Here’s how you can help today!
Ambassador Responsibilities
Teacher Workshops
As a teacher ambassador you can be responsible for submitting proposals for professional development workshops in your district. This may include workshops related to FCEE materials, The Florida Stock Market Challenge, NCEE materials or perhaps district-specific resources. We will assist you by providing sufficient materials for your audience as well as some fun freebies to make the workshops successful. We will also provide you with valuable powerpoints and other presentation materials. On average, we expect that ambassadors will conduct two professional development seminars per year.
Getting the Word out & Sharing Resources
In addition to workshops that you propose, the FCEE and your district sometimes need help disseminating valuable information and resources to other teachers. This includes raising awareness and applications for the Governor’s Awards Program, the Economics Challenge or perhaps district-based inititatives. Teacher Ambassadors will be responsible for distributing information periodically through the proper channels in their respective school district (i.e. district heads or directly to teacher mail boxes).
Updating your County’s Sub Page
As the ambassador for your county you may update your own part of the FCEE web site–specifically dedicated for your district. The layout is already provided, so no web design experience is necessary. All you need to do is update text and…well, communicate with your folks as you see fit.
Ambassador Compensation
We appreciate that your time is extremely valuable. Likewise, we are looking
for the best and most dedicated teachers of economics. If you are selected to become an ambassador you will receive the following:
- A picture and professional profile on the FCEE web site (in your county’s section and in the FCEE Teacher Ambassador’s section)
- Recognition in and invitation to our Governor’s Awards program
- Valuable gift certificates from our corporate partners
- Priority consideration for paid stipends (beginning 2008-2009) These will range between $200-$250 per workshop.
